The Ski Mountaineering World Cup is back in the Alpes Vaudoises! On 4 and 5 April 2025, Villars will be pulsating to the rhythm of the Sprint and Mixed Relay events, bringing together the world's elite in the discipline.
Ski mountaineering is very popular in Switzerland, and every year attracts more and more enthusiasts, drawn by the diversity of itineraries on offer.
Ski mountaineering will make its official debut at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026, marking a historic milestone for the sport.
During the week of competition, the athletes in the Swiss delegation shone, winning a total of seven medals, including three golds, in the elite category. Most of these athletes will be in Bretaye for the World Cup, providing a great opportunity to see them perform at the highest level.
The competition venue is accessible by train from Villars station to the Col de Bretaye: fares and timetables.
Thanks to its privileged location opposite the Bretaye 1808 restaurant, spectators will be able to follow all the events in a unique atmosphere.
