Route des Mosses 72
1660 L Etivaz
In the village of L'Etivaz, the birthplace of L'Etivaz PDO, visitors will be guided through the history of this famous mountain cheese by a moving film and a guided tour of the cellars, where up to 30,000 wheels of cheese are matured. Self-respecting epicureans won't want to miss the chance to taste this unique, inter-generational alpine cheese, made over a wood fire using the traditional method, with its floral flavour and the diversity of fresh grasses grazed by the cows.
On the shelves of the Maison de L'Etivaz, Etivaz PDO in several maturing stages and Etivaz à Rebibes PDO (aged for over 36 months) naturally take pride of place alongside a host of regional specialities.
